Predator Fishing World Championships in Ireland
10/06/24 update:
Wow, what can I say… the Predator Fishing World Championships in Ireland has come to an end and the team had its best finish to date by far with a 5th. We were just out of medal range which was our goal, but still a lot of positives about a solid finish! Being able to actually pre-fish a bit helped tremendously, thank you to our friends in Ireland for helping accommodate us. There are definitely some decisions I wish I could have back, but that’s tournament fishing.
Huge congrats to John and Max for taking the big fish prize with the mega 120cm John stuck in the last few hours, and ensuring Team USA came home with some hardware! We as a Team also had a 109 and 110cm fish, 3 of the 4 biggest fish caught in the event! This was by far the best venue we’ve seen in predator fishing overseas; beautiful scenery, a large body of water stuffed with plentiful baitfish, and most importantly, lots of big pike!!!
This one was a little extra special because I (we) had the best damn cheering section on the planet; Julia and my girls were there, along with my parents, and team wives Robin and Lisa. Big thanks as well to Jeremy Bentsen who joined the team this year as an extra hand around camp and guy on the water Pre-fishing, this is truly a Team Sport, and it all helps! I’m on a plane across the big pond now, prep for the LEWT championship back home starts tomorrow, and I’m looking to finish this incredible season strong, let’s go! #teamusa #predatorfishing #pike #fishtheworld #fishing #success #ireland #megapike
