World Schooling and Travels to begin...
Julia's words: "When Stella was born almost 11 years ago, I told Ryan my dream was to move out West to the mountains, homeschool Stella and future children and ski bum… for just 1 year. Being close to our family and community is important but we have a unique lifestyle and I felt called to make the best of it.
Since this thought years ago, my dream has shifted to traveling for a year. Why not? We plan to travel nationally and internationally, goal to visit 4 continents with 3 kids and flying stand by ( no confirmed seats on planes), and only carry on bags. Ryan will be joining us as much as possible.
Because we will be flying with no confirmed seats, this will be quite the adventure. I have a rough plan and hoping we have smooth sailing through the school year. Stella, Nora and Lucy are ready! They are very excited. I’m being cautiously optimistic because this will be more travel than they (and I) are used to, going to places we have never been to, out of our comfort zone and all the different time zones!
Regardless, can’t wait to get started!
The first stop will be the Bahamas. Our home away from home. We know what to expect, the girls are familiar and we love being there this time of year when all we need is a bathing suit, sunglasses and hat
Thank you to all who have shown support. We are so grateful for you and look forward to sharing our updates!"
"Since the day we brought Lucy home as a baby, Ryan and I dreamt of the day all 3 kids were in school. We work non-traditional schedules. We would have an adult pool party and celebrate our daytime freedom….until we decided, what the heck, let’s take the kids and travel
Fortunately, we have a very supportive school and the girls will begin the year with their friends and teachers before Mama takes over as teacher.
1st day of school adult pool party will be post-poned until 2025. But we did enjoy a morning swim with coffee."
8/30/24 update...
Ready, set, go…. LEWT practice, LEWT Geneva, 6 ocean crossings with stops in Athens Greece, Amsterdam, Brown’s home opener, and South Korea in a 12 day period, straight to Ireland for Predator World Championship practice. Then touring Europe and world schooling the girls with Julia Buddie for a couple weeks, back to Ireland for official practice and the championship. Back home, couple days of practice and LEWT championship, mid October. Not one day between now and then without something on the agenda. Julia says I’m not very good a relaxing anyways, I’ll sleep when I’m dead, let’s do this!
